Managed Wireless Installation London
Patchy Wi-Fi is one of the most common complaints in offices and hotels. Staff cannot work efficiently. Guests leave bad reviews. Video calls drop. The problem is usually not the broadband connection, it is the wireless infrastructure inside the building. We design and install managed wireless networks across London for offices, hotels, warehouses, and commercial sites. Our installations use enterprise-grade access points designed for high-density environments where a lot of devices need a reliable connection at the same time. If your current Wi-Fi is not performing, we can survey your site and tell you exactly why.
What a Managed Wireless Installation Includes
We install enterprise-grade access points from manufacturers including Ubiquiti, Cisco Meraki, and Ruckus. These are not the type of access point you buy from a high-street retailer. They are designed for buildings where many users are connecting at once and where consistent performance matters.
A managed wireless network is controlled from a central management platform. This lets us see every access point, monitor performance, push firmware updates, and troubleshoot problems without visiting your site. If an access point goes offline or starts performing below normal, we can identify and address it remotely. For hotels and larger offices, this kind of visibility makes a real difference to how quickly problems get resolved.
We plan access point placement using a wireless survey. This means walking your building with survey equipment that maps signal strength and identifies dead zones. The survey tells us where to put access points and how many are needed to give you consistent coverage throughout. We do not guess or follow a generic layout.
If you want to offer guest Wi-Fi separately from your internal network, we set this up with a separate SSID and appropriate access controls so that guests cannot reach your internal systems. We can also set bandwidth limits on the guest network if needed.
How We Set Up Your Wireless Network
The first step is a wireless survey of your site. Our engineer uses dedicated software to map your current signal and identify where coverage is weak or missing. This gives us the data to design the right installation.
We produce a written proposal showing access point locations on a floor plan, the equipment specification, and the price.
On installation day, we mount and cable the access points, configure the management platform, set up your SSIDs and security settings, and test coverage across the building.
After handover, your network is monitored through the management platform. If you have a maintenance contract with us, we handle firmware updates and respond to any performance issues.
Managed Wireless Questions
What is the difference between consumer Wi-Fi and a managed wireless system?
Consumer access points are designed for homes and small spaces. They handle a small number of devices and have no central management. Enterprise access points are designed for buildings with many users, hand off between each other as you move around, and are monitored and configured from a central dashboard.
Do we need to rewire the building to install new access points?
In most cases, no. Access points are powered via the network cable using Power over Ethernet, so the same cable that carries the network connection also powers the device. If your existing cabling is suitable, we can use it. If you need new cable runs, we can handle that too.
How many access points do we need?
It depends on the size of the building, the layout, and how many users will be connecting. Our wireless survey gives us a precise answer rather than a guess. A medium-sized office floor might need four to six access points. A hotel might need one per corridor section per floor, depending on the layout.
Can you manage the network after installation?
Yes. We offer managed wireless contracts that include remote monitoring, firmware updates, and priority support. If there is a problem, we identify it through the management platform and resolve it, often without needing to visit.
Will the wireless work for IoT devices like door entry systems?
Yes. We can configure separate VLANs for different device types, which keeps your IoT devices on the network without giving them access to your main business systems.
We design and install managed wireless networks across London and into Surrey, Kent, Buckinghamshire, and Middlesex. If you want to know why your Wi-Fi is not performing or want to discuss a new installation, call 020 3302 6838 or get in touch through the contact page. We offer a free wireless survey for sites in our coverage area.
